Every day in B.C. hundreds of car accidents occur. Being in a car accident can be an overwhelming experience, in a moment, your life can be changed forever.  You may be injured, your vehicle might be damaged or even written off,  you may feel scared, confused or even embarrassed. At the scene of the collision, you should do your best to obtain as much information as you can including contact information for the other drivers and passengers involved, any witnesses to the accident, and photographs of the scene of the accident.

You should also call the police and report the accident. If you are injured, you should seek out medical treatment as soon as possible whether by ambulance, hospital, walk in clinic or doctor’s appointment.

After an accident, you will probably need to make a claim with ICBC. When you deal with ICBC on your own, it is important to remember that ICBC is likely also acting for the other driver who caused the accident. In that capacity, ICBC is probably working to limit the amount of compensation that you should receive.

We Can Help

When you retain Maryn Law to represent you, we act for you and only you. When you retain us, we will take action to obtain whatever information is necessary in order to make your claim. This may require us to interview and obtain statements from witnesses, search for any video footage of the accident, retain an engineer to obtain data from the vehicle or the scene, and properly notify ICBC of your claim.
